The crash carts have arrived! Thanks to an enthusiastic public response, the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation was able to buy 5 new crash carts to provide the necessary assistance during a “Code Blue”. The generous donors have ensured a faster reaction time to those patients suffering from cardiac arrest, a condition where seconds count.

Dr. MacRitchie has estimated that there are between one and four cardiac arrests per week in Prince George. Time is critical, and health care providers must respond with the best equipment available. Originally expected to raise funds for 2 new carts, an overwhelming flood of support came for this cause. Groups such as the Hospital Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose were instrumental in raising these funds. Prince George can now continue to expand with the proper and updated equipment.
