The Foundation was proud to acknowledge support during the event from the following donors:The Spirit of the North Day, a five hour recognition event and fundraiser for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation was held April 6, 2008 and the Foundation recognized $2,304,836 in donations received during our 2007/2008 fiscal year plus new donations pledged during the event.
PGTV viewers were able to watch two family oriented Disney movies and the Foundation replaced the commercial breaks with updates, pledges and presentations regarding its previous capital campaign, designed to help build Prince George Regional Hospital into a centre for healthcare excellence for northern BC.
The Maternal Child Centre of Excellence opened the new Paediatric wing in November 2006 and the NICU and Maternity area is June 2007 and the move to the new areas has been very successful. Coupled with this completely renovated area on the 2nd floor is the Paediatric Ambulatory Care area, where all of the paediatric clinics and out-patients services will be offered.
